Lynchburg, VA – Nazareth's men's track and field team completed the second day of the Dennis Craddock Coaches Classic at Lynchburg University on Saturday. Junior
Adam Reifsteck recorded a third-place finish in the triple jump with a mark of 13.79 meters (45' 3"), which ranks second in the Golden Flyers' top performances and 25th nationally.
In the men's hammer throw, freshman
Graeden Heichberger and sophomore
David Dobrowolski had top-five finishes. Heichberger placed fourth with a throw of 51.89 meters (170' 3"), while Dobrowolski was fifth with a throw of 48.87 meters (160' 4"). Both marks were personal bests and rank second and third in Nazareth's top performances. Heichberger improved on his throw of 51.74 meters (169' 9") from last week, and Dobrowolski improved on his 2024 throw of 47.62 meters (156' 3"). Additionally, Heichberger was sixth in the shot put with a throw of 14.36 meters (47' 1 ½").
Dobrowolski and Heichberger also competed in the discus. Dobrowolski placed 21st with a throw of 34.30 meters (112' 6"), and Heichberger was 31st at 31.3 meters (102' 8"). Heichberger's throw was a personal best.
In the 4x100-meter relay, the foursome of graduate student
Mike Welch, senior
Benjamin Lewis, sophomore
Jack Healy, and junior
Jaylen Savage finished sixth with a time of 43.16 seconds.
In the 100-meter dash, Lewis led the Golden Flyers across the finish line with a 20th-place time of 11.27 seconds. He was followed by Welch in 34th place (11.53 seconds) and junior
Jack Pomykaj in 38th (11.55 seconds). Additionally, Healy, Pomykaj, and Welch ran in the 400-meter-dash. Healy was 11th (50.86 seconds), Pomykaj was 15th (52.09 seconds), and Welch finished 16th (52.22 seconds).
Senior
Cade Eells was eighth in the 800-meter event with a time of 1:55.17. Eells's time ranks fourth on Nazareth's top performances. Junior
Gavin McAllister was 15th (1:55.96), followed by senior
Ethan Kenyon in 30th (1:58.15), sophomore
Cole Hastings in 43rd (1:59.63), junior Cam Almy in 47th (2:00.52), and junior
Connor Jackson in 82nd (2:13.43). The performances by Eells, McAllister, Kenyon, Almy, and Jackson were personal best times.
Junior
Aaron Lund placed 16th in the 110-meter hurdles (17.71 seconds) and 18th in the 400-meter hurdles (1:00.46).
The Golden Flyers are in action again next weekend when the team competes at the Coach Pollard Invite at Moravian University and at the University of Rochester Alumni Invitational.
