HILTON, NY (nazathletics.com) - The Empire 8 announced its 2025-26 Men's Indoor Track & Field All-Conference selections on Tuesday, with several Golden Flyers earning honors. The Empire 8 first, second and third team all-conference selections were determined at the championship meet, Feb. 27-28.
Sophomore Graeden Heichberger earned second team honors in both the shot put and weight throw. Seniors Jack Pomykaj and Aaron Lund both received honors in the heptathlon, with Pomykaj receiving first team and Lund earning third team recognition. The 4x400 meter relay team of Nick Driver, Griffin Killian, Gavin McAllister and Michael Puglisi were selected to the third team honors. Junior David Dobrowolski picked up third team honors for weight throw was chosen as Nazareth's nominee for the Tomorrow's Leaders list.
Heichberger capped off a stellar sophomore campaign with two great performances at the Empire 8 Championships. He recorded scores of 15.28 meters in the shot put and 18.66 meters in the weight throw, to earn second team honors in both events. This marks improvement after earning third team selections in both events last season.
Pomykaj continues his streak of earning All-Conference honors in the heptathlon, following a first team finish (2023-24) and third team finish (2024-25). His 4,733 point performance set a new championship record and secured him another first team accolade. Lund picked up his third career, third team All-Conference selection in the heptathlon. At the Empire 8 Championships, he earned a score of 4,390 points, to finish in third place.
Driver, Killian, McAllister, and Puglisi recorded a time of 3:22.15 in the 4 x 400 meter relay to earn third team All-Conference honors.
Dobrowolski picked up third team honors after taking third in the weight throw at the E8 Championship meet with a mark of 18.57 meters, his first career All-Conference distinction. He was also Nazareth's selection for the Empire 8 Tomorrow's Leaders Team. One member of each team was named to the 2025-26 Men's Indoor Track and Field Tomorrow's Leaders Team. This team honors a student-athlete who has emerged as a leader not only on the field of play, but in the classroom and in the community. In addition, they "compete with honor and integrity" and have distinguished themselves and consistently exhibit the critical traits as outstanding sportsmen.
