Women’s Golf Wins Keuka Invitational

Penn Yan, N.Y. (nazathletics.com) – Nazareth's women's golf team competed in the Keuka Invitational on Thursday at Lakeside Country Club. With a score of +113, they came in 13 strokes better than second place (SUNY Geneseo, +126) and won the event in commanding fashion. This marks women's golf's second win of the season (joining the September Keuka College Invitational), and their first of 2026.

How It Happened
  • Sophomore Bethany Wineburg was the top Golden Flyer on the day, finishing in a tie for first overall on the individual leaderboard with a score of 90 (+18). Her round was highlighted by pars on the final hole of both the front and back nines and an additional one on hole 12.
  • Senior Kara Kopyt took 6th place overall and was Nazareth's second lowest scorer. She carded a 99 (+27), powered by her team's only birdie on a par-5 hole number 6 as well as a par on 17.
  • Just two positions below Kopyt was fellow senior Grace Colangelo. She finished 8th on the individual leaderboard and put on a strong performance on the back nine, where she turned in a 48 with 3 pars. She also managed to finish both sides with pars, including a pair coming consecutively on holes 17 and 18.
  • Freshman Abigail Denz carded a score of 109 (+37), which was good for 14th place on the individual side of the event. She recorded 6 single bogeys on the day to lead her to a top-15 finish.
  • Junior Sabrina Schultz was Nazareth's fifth golfer, and she came in 16th place overall. She scored 7 bogeys and carded a 110 (+38) on the day.

What's Next
The Golden Flyers will have just one day off before returning to the tee-box on Saturday, April 11th. They will be traveling to Cortland Country Club to take part in the Martin and Wallace Spring Invitational hosted by SUNY Cortland. The event will span over two days, and Nazareth will look to win their second of the 2025-2026 season.
