nazathletics.com) – Nazareth's women's golf team took home the Nazareth University Spring Invitational Title on Monday. They hosted the event and won it convincingly, recording a total team score of +94, 31 strokes better than second place.
How It Happened
- Senior Kara Kopyt competed in her final round on Monday, placing 3rd overall individually. Her round was highlighted by 7 pars to lift her to a score of 94 (+22). She played an especially strong back nine, carding a 42 through 9 holes.
- Senior Grace Colangelo finished just one spot behind Kopyt on the overall individual leaderboard, taking 4th place with a score of 96 (+24). She sank 5 pars, including a pair on holes 11 and 12.
- Sophomore Bethany Wineburg took home the event individual title for the Golden Flyers. She carded a dominant score of 83 (+11) on the day, 11 strokes better than second place. Wineburg's round was powered by a birdie on hole 7, and she added 8 pars to the mix.
- Freshman Abigail Denz was Nazareth's 4th lowest scoring golfer, and 11th overall. She finished with a score of 108 (+36), powered by 7 single bogeys.
- Junior Sabrina Schultz rounded out Nazareth's team-play golfers, placing 15th overall. She recorded a score of 115 (+43), aided by 6 single bogeys on the day.
- Sophomore Marley Ohl (IND) finished her season with a score of 112 (+40) on Monday, good for 12th place overall. She logged two pars on the round, one on each of the front and back nines.
What's Next
With the win, the Golden Flyers 2025-2026 season comes to an end in Pittsford. They amassed 7 top-3 finishes on the campaign, including team-play invitational titles in three events, including both the Fall and Spring editions of the Keuka Invitational as well as this final event that they hosted. They will say farewell to seniors
Kara Kopyt and
Grace Colangelo, and look to prepare for another successful season in the Fall.
