Empire 8 All Conference Release
ROCHESTER, N.Y. - On Tuesday morning, the Empire 8 announced its men's track and field All-Conference teams and the Golden Flyers were represented by seven athletes. The first, second, and third team selections were determined at the conclusion of the Empire 8 Championship meet at Brockport from May 2-3.
Jack Pomykaj was Nazareth's lone First-Team selection after setting a new championship record in the decathlon with a mark of 6,173 points.
Nazareth's Second-Team honorees were all a part of the second place 4x800 team.
Cade Eells,
Ethan Kenyon,
Michael Puglisi, and
Gavin McAllister combined for a time of 8:00.33 to earn the honors.
Freshman
Graeden Heichberger earned a place as a Third-Team selection for his shot put mark of 15.18 meters.
In addition,
Jack Healy has been named Nazareth's representative on the Empire 8 Sportsperson of the Year Team. The Empire 8 Conference emphasizes that "Competing with Honor and Integrity"; is an essential component of a student-athlete's experience in conjunction with an institution's educational mission. These honorees have distinguished themselves and consistently exhibit the critical traits as outstanding sportspeople.
