ROCHESTER, N.Y. (nazathletics.com) - Nazareth Men's Track and Field opened the season with standout performances at the Alumni Opener, highlighted by
Graeden Heichberger's record-setting shot put throw and several personal bests across the field and track events.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Graeden Heichberger led the Golden Flyers in the field events, capturing first in the shot put with a commanding throw of 16.07 meters (52-8 ¾).
- In the weight throw, David Dobrowolski and Heichberger gave Nazareth a strong showing with second- and third-place finishes, throwing 17.33 meters (56-10 ¼) and 16.92 meters (55-6 ¼), respectively.
- On the track, Nicholas Driver ran a strong 500 meters to finish third in 1:07.69 in his collegiate debut.
- Michael Puglisi placed fourth in the 300 meters with a time of 36.65 seconds, showcasing early-season speed.
- The 4x400 relay team of Jack Healy, Gavin McAllister, Nicholas Driver, and Michael Puglisi closed out the meet with a solid fourth-place finish in 3:27.13.
MEET NOTES
- Graeden Heichberger's personal-best shot put mark broke his own school record of 15.34 meters (50-4") set last year.
- Both David Dobrowolski (17.33m) and Heichberger (16.92m) recorded personal bests in the weight throw which sit second- and third-best overall in Nazareth history.
- Nicholas Driver's 500-meter time is the fifth-fastest in school history and came in his collegiate debut.
- Michael Puglisi's 300-meter time ranks seventh in program history.
- The 4x400 relay's 3:27.13 ranks seventh in program history.
