BOSTON, MA – On the final day of competition at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational at Boston University, the Nazareth Men's and Women's Track and Field teams had several noteworthy finishes including a pair of personal records and three times that ranked among the top-five list at Nazareth.
Senior Kaleb Luton had the highest place finish for Nazareth with a 19th place finish in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.35 seconds. Fellow senior Mike Welch posted a pair of top-five times with his finish in the 200-meter in 22.76 and the 400-meters in 50.31.
Also in the 400, freshman Michael Puglisi clocked 50.41 to rank fifth in the top-five list.
Graduate student Patrick Healy had a PR time in the 800 with a 1:57.24 which also ranks at the top of the Empire 8 standings and sophomore Cade Eells also had a personal best in the mile with a 4:21.07 and a number one ranking in the Empire 8 standings.
For the Nazareth women, the Distance Medley Relay with Brenna Johnson, Abbey Szumloz, Ella Impaglia and Emily Weaver had a 12:47.09 to move to the top of the Empire 8 standings in the event.
Additional top finishes include Nathan Bowers with a 15:24.87 in the 5K, Gavin McAllister with a 1:59.31 in the 800 and Ben Lewis with times of 50.80 and 22.86 in the 400 and 200 respectively.
Nazareth will host the Conference Tune up Meet Friday in the final preparation for the Empire 8 Championships scheduled for February 24 and 25.
