Environmental Science major... son of Sean and Rebecca Bowers, Endicott, N.Y... returning for his fifth track and field season, Bowers completed his fifth cross country season for the Golden Flyers in the fall of 2023 and finished eighth at the Empire 8 Conference meet at Victor in 26:00.8 for 8 kilometers to earn second-team all-conference honors… had a personal-best time of 25:20.5 to finish 24th at the NCAA Division III Niagara Regional race at Houghton.
2022-23: Bowers continued to excel for the Golden Flyers in 2022-23 as Nazareth captured its first-ever Empire 8 Conference titles during the indoor and outdoor seasons… during the outdoor season, Bowers ran second in both the 5,000- and 10,000-meter runs with times of 15:33.58 and 32:41.08 respectively… also ran third in the 1,500-meter run in 4:07.60… represented the Golden Flyers at the All-Atlantic Regional meet at Susquehanna and finished 20th in the 5,000 (15:19.48)… personal-best 5,000 time of 14:51.19 was a school record and came at the Bison Outdoor Classic at Bucknell… during the indoor season, Bowers won the E8 title in the 3,000-meter run (8:52.80), placed second in the mile (4:27.89) and third in the 5,000 (16:10.15)… finished 19th in the 3,000 (8:44.46) at the All-Atlantic Regional meet at the Amory Track and Field Center in New York… also posted a personal-best 800-meter time of 2:00.11… recipient of Robert A. Kidera Scholar-Athlete award presented annually to a Nazareth senior who excels both academically and athletically.... named to the Academic All-District team (3.50 GPA or higher) by the College Sports Communicators.
2021-22: Bowers had strong indoor and outdoor seasons, including being named the Track Athlete of the Meet at the Empire 8 Outdoor Championships... earned first-team all-conference at the championships after winning both the 5,000 (15:28.73) and the 10,000-meter run (32:26.29)… had personal-best times of 32:19.70 in the 10,000-meter run, 4:22.66 in the mile, 8:41.99 in the 3,000-meter run and 4:02.28 in the 1,500... earned a trio of second-place finishes at the Empire 8 Indoor Championships to take second-team all-conference in the mile (4:27.15), the 3,000-meter run (8:52.33), and the 5,000-meter run (15:41.49)... enjoyed an outstanding cross country season in the fall of 2022, helping the Golden Flyers earn their third straight Empire 8 title.. named the Empire 8 Men's Cross Country Runner of the Year and named first-team all-conference… was runner-up at the Empire 8 Championships with an 8k time of 25:48.2... also earned all-region honors after taking 24th place at the Niagara Region Cross Country Championships with an 8k time of 26:19.0.
2020-21: Bowers did well both indoors and outdoors in 2021 as he won Empire 8 outdoor titles in both the 5,000- and 10,000-meter runs with times of 15:59.38 and 32:53.89 respectively... also captured the E8 indoor title in the 5,000 with a time of 15:37.47 and was third in the 3,000-meter run (9:08.58)... finished ninth in the 10,000-meter run at the outdoor All-Atlantic Regional meet at St. John Fisher on 5/20/21... served as the Golden Flyers' top cross country runner in the fall of 2021 as he finished second at the E8 meet with a time of 25:43.2 for 8 kilometers to earn first-team all-conference honors and helped Nazareth to its second straight E8 title... also finished 18th (25:55.0) at the NCAA Niagara Regional race at Geneseo to earn all-region honors... named E8 Runner of the Week for 10/4/21... Bowers also competed in both cross country races for the Golden Flyers during their pandemic-altered 2021 spring season... finished second at the Empire 8 Conference meet in 19:10.8 for 6 kilometers to gain first-team all-conference honors... also finished first at St. John Fisher's Rodenbeck Invitational (19:47.4) on 3/26/21... named E8 Runner of the Week for 3/30/21.
2019-20: Bowers competed during the 2020 indoor season and earned second-team Empire 8 all-conference honors in the 3,000-meter run (8:59.36) with a runner-up finish at the conference meet... outdoor season was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic... other top indoor times included 4:29.51 in the mile, 2:10.65 in the 800-meter run and 15:25.79 in the 5,000-meter run... competed for the Golden Flyers' cross country team in 2019 and finished 13th at the Empire 8 Conference meet on 11/2/19 at St. John Fisher (27:41.4 for 8 kilometers) to earn second-team all-conference honors... also represented the Golden Flyers as E8 Sportsman of the Year... finished 86th at the NCAA Atlantic Regional meet on 11/16/19 at St. Lawrence (26:52.8)... top 8k time of 26:37.7 was good for 17th place at Houghton's Highlander Invitational on 10/5/19.
Scholastic: a graduate of Owego Free Academy, Bowers competed in cross country and track and field there... helped cross country team to Section Four Class B titles in 2017 and 2018 with second-place individual finishes each season... also finished 31st at state meet in 2018 and fourth at Northeast & New York Regional meet... a three-time all-star in the Southern Tier Athletic Conference... won Section Four indoor championship in the 3,200-meter run and finished third at state meet... holds school record for 3,200-meter run (9:23.2) and two other relays... recipient of Weiss Stem Scholarship and Noah Farley Memorial Scholarship.
