FINAL RESULTS
ROCHESTER, NY – Several athletes established new personal best results and senior Lea Richard broke her own school record again in the weight thrown as the Nazareth University Women's Track and Field team competed at the season-opening Nazareth Alumni Meet Friday night at the Golisano Training Center.
Richard had a winning throw of 17.52 meters (57' 5 ¾) to break the previous school record by more than a foot to lead the Golden Flyers. Freshman Hailey Webber set the Nazareth freshman record with her fourth-place finish throw of 15.52 meters (50' 11"). The freshman also placed fourth in the shot put with a toss of 11.45 meters (37' 6 ¾") as Richard placed 10th with a heave of 10.72 meters (35' 2").
Sophomore Alaina Morley broke two personal bests and tied a third with her impressive night. She finished second in the 60-meter dash with a new PR of 8.00 seconds which ranks as the second fastest time in school history in the event. She then added a PR in the long jump with a 12th place finish with a leap of 5.03 meters (16'6") and tied her PR in the high jump with a second-place finish of 1.47 meters (4' 9 ¾").
In addition, she teamed with senior Hannah Ragule, sophomore Sydney LaSalle and freshman Jasmine Kendrick for a second-place finish in the 4x200 relay with a time of 1:50.70.
LaSalle added a PR performance in the triple jump with a distance of 10.62 meters (34' 10 ¼") to place 8th.
In the pole vault, sophomore Isabel Morse led the Golden Flyers and cleared the 3.45 meter height (11 3 ¾) for a new PR as she place fifth overall.
Other top finishers included freshman Kennedy Rose (1:23.25) in the 500 meters for a third-place finish while fellow freshman Mallory Rice (1:26.38) was fifth. Freshman Ava Baker (3:14.76) was fifth in the 1000 and teamed with senior Lauren Bendall, sophomore Shiana Susa and senior Isabella Heath for a third-place finish in the 4x400 relay with a time of 4:20.02.
Kendrick was the top finisher for Nazareth in the long jump with a leap of 5.07 meters (16' 7 ¾") and an 11th place finish and Heath was third in the triple jump with a distance of 11.00 meters (36 1 ¼).
In the Alumni Mile, Lauren Jamieson was the top female finisher in 5:58.34 followed by
Brenna Johnson (6:26.16) and
Abbey Szumloz (6:26.17).
