Rush, N.Y. – The Golden Flyers women's golf team completed their second and final round at Wild Wood Country Club, maintaining their position in third place with a combined score of 796 (+220) on the weekend. St. John Fisher took home the win with a gross score of 719 (+143) through two days of action.
How it Happened:
- Sophomore Bethany Wineburg took the lead among Nazareth golfers, finishing the tournament in fifth place overall. Wineburg carded an 87 (+15) on Monday for a weekend total of 182 (+38), and she scored birdies on her first and last holes of the day.
- Freshman Lainie Liberatore ended her weekend with a 97 (+25) on Monday, which gave her a combined score of 191 (+47). Liberatore shot three pars on the front nine on day two, boosting her total to eight through 36 holes. She finished tied for ninth place.
- In seventeenth place on the individual leaderboard is senior Kara Kopyt, who scored a 111 (+39) for a two-day total of 210 (+66). Kopyt found success on hole 8, parring it twice.
- Rounding out the top four for the Golden Flyers is freshman Abigail Denz, who shot a 111 (+39) on day two for a combined score of 213 (+69). Denz finished the Invitational in eighteenth position, recording two pars on the front nine this weekend.
- Concluding the women's squad are freshman Breanna Bovo (214, +70), senior Grace Colangelo (219, +75), and junior Sabrina Schultz (235, +91). They finished the tournament in nineteenth, twenty-first, and twenty-fourth positions respectively.
