GENESEO, N.Y. – Nazareth's women's track and field team continued competition at the Geneseo Early Season Invitational on Saturday. Junior
Isabel Morse took first in the pole vault with a height of 3.80 meters (12' 5 ½"), which takes the top spot on Nazareth's Top-5 list. Morse had a height of 3.7 meters (12' 1 ½") in May 2023, which now ranks third on the list.
In addition to Morse, junior
Kiara Tornusciolo and freshman
Madyson Bush had strong performances in the vault. Tornusciolo was fifth with a height of 3.5 meters (11' 5 3/4"), and Bush was sixth with a height of 3.2 meters (10' 6"). Tornusciolo's height beat her April 2024 performance of 3.46 meters (11' 4 ¼"), which ranks fifth on Nazareth's Top-5 list after the weekend.
Also in field events, graduate student
Katie Jacques had a second-place finish in the triple jump. Jacques reached 10.87 meters (35' 8") on her first attempt.
In addition to her triple jump performance, Jacques placed seventh in the long jump with a mark of 5.07 meters (16' 7 ¾"). Sophomore
Jasmine Kendrick finished just behind Jacques with a mark of 5.06 meters (16' 7 ¼") for eighth place. Junior
Sydney LaSalle finished just outside the top-10 with a mark of 4.86 meters (15' 11 ½") to place 11th in the event.
In the high jump, however, LaSalle did place 10th with a mark of 1.48 meters (4' 10 ¼"). Junior
Alaina Morley finished one spot behind her with a mark of 1.43 meters (4' 8 ¼").
On the track, junior
Ella Impaglia was third with a time of 11:47.27 in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. Impaglia's finish in the steeplechase marked an AARTFC time of 11:47.27. Her time of 11:30.67 from May 2024 still ranks third on Nazareth's Top-5 list, and Saturday's performance ranks fifth.
Junior
Alexis Lasher had a fifth-place finish in the 400-meter with a time of 1.00.22. Also on the track, sophomore
Kennedy Doran was finished seventh in the 10,000-meter run (41:41.06), followed by classmate
Meghan Moyer, who finished 12th (43:00.78).
On Friday night, the women opened the first day of the Early Season Invitational with the women's hammer throw and javelin throw.
Senior
Lea Richard took second place in the hammer throw with a throw of 48.40 meters (158' 9"). Richard's performance on Friday put her on Nazareth's Top-5 list for a second time; she recorded a mark of 52.14 meters (171' 1") in April 2024 for the top spot. Sophomore
Emily Rolince also competed, she threw 37.84 (124' 2") meters to take 23rd place.
In the women's javelin throw, seniors
Abbey Conquest and
Lauren Bendall took 7th and 14th place, respectively. Conquest threw 32.16 meters (105' 6"), and Bendall threw 28.00 meters (91' 10").
Nazareth is in action again next weekend, April 11th-12th, with competitions at Brockport and Lynchburg, Virginia.
