Nolan Armitage each recorded a first-place finish in their respective events. Freshman
Graeden Heichberger broke the Nazareth shot put record with his performance.
Eells took first in the 3,000-meter steeplechase by finishing with an AARTFC time of 9:37.81. Eells's performance also ranks third on Nazareth's all-time list. Eells recorded the top spot on the list in May 2024 with a time of 9:03.01. Classmate
Ethan Kenyon placed second in the steeplechase event with time of 9:58.18.
Almy was first in the 10,000-meter run after crossing the line at 34:48.63. Junior
Connor Jackson finished fifth in the event with a time of 35:12.01.
Also on the track, sophomore
Jack Healy and senior Ben Lewis recorded top-10 finishes in the 400-meter dash. Healy crossed the line with a time of :52.14, followed closely by Lewis, who finished with a time of :52.22.
Heichberger's throw of 14.43 meters (47' 4 ¼") placed fourth at Saturday's meet and broke Brandon Vuolo's all-time Nazareth record of 14.24 meters (46' 8.75"), which had stood since 2016.
A trio of freshmen
Will D'Agata,
Nolan Armitage, and
Nathan Sinclair performed well in the pole vault events. D'Agata was 12th in the elite pole vault event with a height of 4.3 meters (14' 1¼"), which puts him fourth on Nazareth's Top-5 list. Armitage and Sinclair placed first and second, respectively, in the second event. Both vaulters recorded a mark of 4.2 meters (13' 9¼"). Armitage took first by achieving it on his first attempt at the height; Sinclair reached it on his second attempt. The height of 4.2 meters ranks fifth on the Golden Flyers' Top-5 list following the meet at Geneseo.
In the long jump, junior
Jack Pomykaj placed a ninth with a mark of 6.08 meters (19' 11 ½").
Nazareth recorded strong performances in the men's hammer throw to open the Early Season Invitational on Friday night.
Heichberger took fifth place in the men's hammer throw. He threw 51.74 meters (169' 9"), which ranks second on Nazareth's Top-5 list. Sophomore
David Dobrowolski threw 44.01 meters (144' 4") and took 17th place. Dobrowolski's performance on Friday ranks fifth on the Golden Flyers' list. He recorded a throw of 47.62 meters (156' 3") in May 2024, which now ranks third all-time. Freshman
Connor Rinas also competed and took 20th place with a throw of 42.69 meters (140'), and sophomore Ben Meyer threw 35.15 meters (115' 4") for a 41st place finish.
Nazareth is in action again next weekend, April 11th-12th, with competitions at Brockport and Lynchburg, Virginia.
