ROCHESTER, NY – For the second time in her career,
Elizabeth Tripp has been named the Empire 8 Diver of the Year as announced by the conference office on Tuesday. The awards are voted on by the league's head coaches. In addition,
Adam DelGrand and
Lauren Sanford were Nazareth's representatives on the Sportsperson teams.
Tripp capped her impressive career with a trip to the NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships in Greensboro, NC. She ended up finishing 20
th on the 1-meter board and 28
th on the 3-meter board.
The graduate student qualified for NCAAs after placing third on the 3-meter board at regionals with a score of 409.95 points.
Tripp was dominant at the Empire 8 meet over four seasons with five first place finishes and three second place finishes. She won three-straight years in the 3-meter from 2023-2025 and was second in 2022. On the 1-meter board she was first in both 2023 and 2025 and second in 2022 and 2024. For her success at the Championship meet, Tripp was been named the Empire 8 Diver of the Meet for the last three seasons.
After being named the Empire 8 Diver of the Year (2022-23) for the second time, Tripp and the Nazareth women's diving squad have accounted for the last seven Divers of the Year.
Sanford and DelGrand are Nazareth's representative on the Sportsperson of the Year Teams. One member of each team was named that institution's representative on the 2024-25 Empire 8 Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving Sportsperson of the Year Team. The Empire 8 Conference emphasizes that "Competing with Honor and Integrity" is an essential component of a student-athlete's experience in conjunction with an institution's educational mission. These honorees have distinguished themselves and consistently exhibit the critical traits as outstanding sportspeople.
