Rochester, N.Y. – Nazareth's women's swimming and diving team competed in their first meet of the season on Friday, suffering a close loss to William Smith College by a score of 150-144.
How It Happened
- Freshman Hannah Kolakowski won both diving events in her first ever collegiate meet. She recorded scores of 243.9 on the 1-meter dive, and 228.45 on the 3-meter dive
- The 200 Medley Relay team won their event to garner some early momentum for the Golden Flyers. Seniors Peyton Buell and Emily LeFrois-Heath, Junior Ellen Burroughs, and Sophomore Kate Millson collected 11 points for Nazareth with the win, clocking a time of 2:09.96
- LeFrois-Heath continued her success, winning three individual events in convincing fashion. She won the 100-yard butterfly (1:08.14), the 100-yard breaststroke (1:21.55), and the 200-yard individual medley (2:34.28)
- Junior Ellen Burroughs won three individual events as well, setting three new personal records. Her wins came in the 100-yard freestyle (1:02.17), the 200-freestyle (2:15.29), and the 400-freestyle (4:54.67)
- Senior Peyton Buell added two more wins to her medley relay victory, taking both the 50-yard backstroke (34.27) and the 100-yard backstroke (1:12.57)

Women's swimming will hit the pool next on Saturday, November 1st for an Empire 8 in-conference meet against Hartwick College in Oneonta, NY.
