ROCHESTER, NY - The Nazareth University Dance Team has had an exciting and successful year, and is beginning to look ahead to the upcoming 2025-2026 season as they roll out a new tryout process.
This year, incoming freshman, transfers, and current Nazareth students have the option to participate in early virtual tryouts. Those that are interested will submit a video demonstrating the required skills and choreography, and may choose to submit additional footage from previous performances or competitions. The list of required skills and a video demonstration of technical elements and choreography can be found
here. in this document. This document also contains additional information about the team as well as instructions on how to upload and share video submissions.
Submissions for early auditions are open now and the deadline has been extended to Sunday, April 20th, 2025. This round of virtual tryouts is optional, as mandatory in-person tryouts will still be held as usual at the start of the Fall 2025 semester. In-person tryouts are a 2-day process, with first cuts to be made on day 1 after demonstration of technique and choreography. Those invited to stay for day 2 will continue to learn more choreography to be demonstrated in small groups the following day. Final results will be shared with dancers out via email within 24 hours. All that are interested in the Dance Team must still attend in-person tryouts in the fall, regardless if they submit a video for early tryouts or not. Those who do choose to submit an early tryout video, however, will be exempt from first cuts and automatically be invited to day 2 of in person tryouts (must still attend both days). This guarantees these dancers an additional opportunity to perform for the coaches and captains before they decide on the final roster.
The team is looking forward to welcoming its newest athletes next year! Please reach out to co-head coaches,
