Dance Earns Podium Finish, Debuts Pom at NDA Regionals

HUNTINGTON STATION, NY (nazathletics.com) - The Nazareth Dance Team turned in a statement weekend at NDA Regionals, Sunday, Feb. 1st, delivering two powerful routines and making program history in the process.

Competing in both Jazz and Pom, NDT showcased its versatility and growth on the regional stage. The team earned a fourth-place finish in the College Jazz category and an impressive second-place finish in the College Pom category, marking the first time in program history Nazareth has competed in the College Pom division.

The Jazz routine, performed to "Fix You" by Coldplay, highlighted the team's emotion, precision, and control, while the high-energy Pom routine, set to a Pitbull mix by Power Music Cheer, brought intensity and confidence to the floor. Both dances were choreographed by coaches Natalie Salewski and Kristin Thayer, alongside captains Mikayla Avery and Morgan Spath.

"As captains we are so proud of the performance they gave this past weekend," said Avery and Spath. "The determination and energy these girls have is exceptional. It is so rewarding to see this team go out and accomplish new milestones; this was NDT's first time competing Pom at NDA Regionals and we couldn't be more thrilled with these athletes."

Salewski and Thayer echoed that pride following the historic showing. "We are truly so proud to coach this team. They have worked hard and made program history by taking two strong dances to competition. We cannot wait to see what the rest of the year has in store."

Nazareth returns to competition inside Kidera Gymnasium on March 29.
