Utica, NY– Senior
Lea Richard earned her fifth-straight Empire 8 Indoor Track and Field weight throw title in the Championships at Utica University on Saturday. The women finished in second place out of nine teams in the Empire 8 Indoor Track Championship.
Geneseo finished first with 265 points, followed by Nazareth who had 118 points, Brockport (97), St. John Fisher (90), Utica (38), Houghton (37), Alfred (15), Hartwick (1), and Sage (1).
Richard has taken the crown for five times in the weight throw. She won the weight throw event and her throw of 17.81 meters (58' 5 ¼") makes her 13th in the country. Richard contributed 10 points with her win.
Senior
Katie Jacques took first place in the triple jump. She landed with a mark of 11.40 meters (37' 5") which is the second-best mark in school history. Junior
Sydney LaSalle was the second-place finisher at 11.14 meters (36' 6 ¾ ") and classmate
Samantha Luba had a mark of 10.97 meters (36' 0") for fourth place. The three of them all had qualifying marks and gave the Golden Flyers 23 points to add to their total.
Luba finished the 60-meter hurdles in third place with a regional qualifying time of 9.28.
LaSalle also competed in the high jump. She took 6th place for Nazareth with a mark of 1.48 meters (4' 10 ¼").
Alaina Morley (7.97) took 5th place and had a regional qualifying time in the 60-meter dash, while
Alexis Lasher (8.08) took 8
th. Lasher also competed in the 200-meter event and landed in 7th place with a regional qualifying time of 26.23.

In the women's 3000-meter event, junior
Ella Impaglia (10:35.54) had a regional qualifying time and

th, respectively.
