Victor, N.Y. – Nazareth's women's golf team took to the tee-box at their home event, the Nazareth Fall Invite. They hold second place going into day two, shooting a team score of 365 (+77). The Golden Flyers have a significant lead over third place Keuka (442, +154), and in first place is St. John Fisher (339, +51).
How It Happened
- Sitting in second place overall on the individual leaderboard is Nazareth sophomore Bethany Wineburg, who carded an 83 (+11). Her round was highlighted by three birdies on the front nine.
- Freshman Lainie Liberatore was the second lowest scoring Golden Flyer, shooting an 89 (+17) to take fifth place. She started and ended her round with pars, stringing together four more on holes four through seven.
- Third among Nazareth golfers was freshman Abigail Denz. She shot a 94 (+22) and is in ninth place after closing out both sides with pars.
- Senior Grace Colangelo carded a 99 (+27) to claim 12th place going into day two. She was her team's fourth best finisher, contributing to Nazareth's second-placing team score.
- Also competing for the Golden Flyers were senior Kara Kopyt (100, +28), junior Sabrina Schultz (107, +35), and freshman Marley Ohl (IND; 116, +44). Kopyt ended her day with a birdie to finish fifth on her team.

Women's golf will return to action on Monday, October 6th for day two of the Nazareth Fall Invite. They will look to improve on their day one performance on a fresh course, as the teams head to Locust Hill Country Club to decide a winner.
