Rome, N.Y. – The Golden Flyers maintained their position in 2nd place to close out the Empire 8 Fall Championship at Teugega Country Club. The team scored a cumulative score of 743 (+181) over the course of the event, aided by a day two team score of 370 (+82). St. John Fisher won the event with a 692 (+120).

Sophomore Bethany Wineburg stayed put in 4th place overall and as Nazareth's top golfer. She carded an 81 (+9) and scored three more birdies. Her score over par from day one was cut in half, an impressive improvement and great performance over the course of 36 holes. Wineburg's total two-day score was 170 (+27).

In 21st and 22nd place overall through two days were freshmen Abigail Denz (212, +69) and Breanna Bovo (IND; 214, +71), and they rounded out the golfers for Nazareth in this final Fall event. They carded a 97 (+25) and a 104 (+32) respectively, with Denz recording a birdie on hole nine while the two of them combined for four pars.
What's Next
The Empire 8 Fall Championship concludes the Fall season for women's golf, and they will eye a return to the tee box in the Spring with hopes of continuing their strong play.
