Final Results
PITTSFORD, NY – A school record in the 100 hurdles, two season-best relays and 11 personal best finishes led the Nazareth University Women's Track and Field to a second consecutive Empire 8 Championship as the Golden Flyers finished with 207 points to finish more than 30 points ahead of second-place Utica in the final team standings.
Nazareth (230 points) won with Utica (174) in second followed by St. John Fisher (149), Alfred (73), Houghton (65), Sage (9) and Hartwick (4). Senior Sofie Fischler was named the Empire 8 Torchbearer Award winner for the women.
Sophomore Samantha Luba shined for the Golden Flyers as she placed first in the 100-meter hurdles with a school-record time of 15.34 seconds. She was also third in the 400-meter hurdles with a personal-best time of 1:08.28 and scored a point with a sixth-place finish in the high jump for Nazareth.
The 4x100 relay with sophomore Alexis Lasher, sophomore Alaina Morley, freshman Jasmine Kendrick and sophomore Sydney LaSalle won the race with a season-best time of 49.41 which is also the second fastest time in school history.
The 4x400 relay with freshman Jordan Wagner, Lasher, freshman Kennedy Rose and senior Isabella Heath finished third with a season-best time of 4:08.02.
Freshman Kelsey Fahy placed second in the 1,500-meters with her time of 4:59.94. Morley (12.62) was third and Lasher (12.69) was fourth in the 100 as Lasher hit her personal best time. Lasher (26.57) added a personal best third-place finish in the 200 with Morley (26.73) taking fourth and Kendrick (27.26) finishing fifth.
Sophomore Ella Impaglia was fourth in the 800 with a personal best time of 2:21.86 and senior Paige Ackley was fifth with a PR of 2:24.20.
Senior Lauren Bendall placed third in the Heptathlon with a PR score of 3,821 which ranks second on the all-time top-five list and fellow senior Hannah Ragule was fourth with a PR score of 3,804 which ranks third all-time.
LaSalle was second in the High Jump and Morley was third as both finished at 1.52-meters (4' 11 ¾"). Heath added a third-place finish in the triple jump with a distance of 11.31 meters (37' 1 ¼") as Ragule (10.86 meters (35' 7 ¾")) placed fifth and LaSalle (10.75 – 35' 3 ¼") was sixth.
