SELINGSGROVE, PA – Two school records fell on Wednesday at the AARTFC meet held at Susquehanna University for the Nazareth women's track and field squad, with
Emily Weaver in the 3,000-meter steeplechase and
Isabel Morse in the pole vault.
After setting the school record in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the Empire 8 Championships, Weaver smashed her own record by over 10 seconds, clocking a 11:24.93 to finish fourth. Freshman
Ella Impaglia was 15
th (11:55.30).
Morse set the school record in the pole vault with a 3.70 meter (12 feet, 1 ½ inches) jump to take fifth place. Sister
Rosie Morse tied for 10
th at a height of 3.25 meters (10 feet, 8 inches).
On her second jump of the day, graduate student
Brenna Johnson hit 5.60 meters (18 feet, 4 ½ inches) which earned her fifth place in the long jump.
Hannah Ragule was also in the event, taking 15
th place with a jump of 5.15 meters (16 feet, 10 ¾ inches).
Johnson also qualified for the 100-meter finals, after clocking a 12.28 which was the fifth fastest time of the day.
Junior
Lilianna Hanning picked up a point in the 10,000-meter run with an eighth-place finish (38:08.77). That time is personal best and the second fastest in school history.
Junior
Lauren Bendall is in 16
th place after four events of the heptathlon. She took eighth in the 200-meter dash in 27.44 and was 12
th in the shot put with a toss of 7.62 meters (25 feet).
Nazareth will close out the regional meet on Thursday.
