ONEONTA, NY – Seniors
Isabella Jaskowski (100 and 200 backstroke) and
Grace Cioffi (100 and 200 butterfly) each won two events on Saturday to help Nazareth knock of Hartwick 163-133, moving the Golden Flyers to 2-0 in dual meets.
Jaskowski was victorious in the 100-yard backstroke (1:04.10), followed by fellow classmate
Alyssa Woodford in third (1:07.37) and
Anne Marie Kurtz in fourth (1:12.01). She also won the 200-yard backstroke in a time of 2:18.26.
Cioffi took home first place in the 200-yard butterfly (2:28.50) and also touched the fastest in the 100-yard butterfly (1:07.02)
Amy Barry was the fastest to touch the wall in the 50-yard freestyle, clocking a 26.42, nearly a second ahead of the second place finisher.
Lauren Sanford earned third place in the same event (28.24)
Caroline Coleman (58.65) and Barry (59.16) were second and third in the 100-yard freestyle, respectively. Coleman (5:43.51) swam to third in the 500-yard freestyle and headlined a pack of Naz swimmers, including
Allison Putnam (5:47.14),
Sydney Federico (5:55.59) and
Maura Miller (6:03.75).
Julie Filipski took home the top spot in the 200-yard IM in a time of 2:23.36. She was second in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:38.57)
A week after taking first place and compiling a score of 276.40 on the 1-meter board,
Alexa Rizzo improved her score to 281.40 to earn first place.
Elizabeth Tripp had an improvement of nearly 30 points for her 1-meter board, picking up 268 points for second place. Tripp won the 3-meter board with a score of 262.70 and Rizzo was second at 2:35.60.
Nazareth returns to the pool on Saturday, traveling to Brockport for a Double Dual Meet with SUNY Geneseo.
