ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- A school-record toss in the hammer throw by sophomore Lea Richard was among the highlights Sunday for the Golden Flyers, who hosted the ROC City Final Qualifier at Golden Flyer Stadium.

Richard will be among the competitors for Nazareth Wednesday and Thursday when the Golden Flyers compete at the All-Atlantic Regional Championships at Moravian, Pa. On Sunday, she placed fifth in the hammer with a heave of 45.95 meters (150 feet, 9 inches) to surpass her personal-best by more than five feet.

Other highlights on Sunday included wins by Elizabeth Decker and Emily Weaver in the 800-meter run and 3,000-meter steeplechase respectively. Decker posted a personal-best time of 2:17.96 to win the race by nearly three seconds. Claire Bargabos also competed and finished seventh in 2:24.88.

Weaver, in her first-ever appearance in the steeplechase, won the race by two seconds with a time of 12:02.06.

MacKenzie Gilligan had a pair of seventh-place finishes as she competed in the 100-meter hurdles (:15.70) and the high jump (1.45 meters / 4 feet, 9 inches). Anna Ahlquist finished eighth in the pole vault by clearly 3.20 meters (10 feet, 6 inches) and Hannah Ragule was seventh in the triple jump (10.98 meters / 36 feet, 0 1/4 inch).
