LEWISBURG, Pa. -- Junior Nathan Bowers and sophomore Matt Reimann shattered school records Friday as each competed at the Bison Outdoor Classic hosted by Bucknell University for the Golden Flyers' track and field team.

Bowers finished in third place in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 15:08.37, nearly 10 seconds faster than Nazareth's previous record of 15:18.26 that was set by Nazareth Hall of Famer Brendan Epstein in 2007.

The school record in the 10,000-meter run also was broken Friday as Reimann crossed the finish line in 26th place with a time of 32:04.14, more than 30 seconds faster than Patrick Hughes' time of 32:34.66 set in 2006.

Freshman Cade Eells also competed for Nazareth Friday in the 5,000-meter run and had a personal-best time of 15:53.20 to finish in 35th place.

For the women's team, juniors Megan Morin and Emily Weaver competed in the 5,000-meter run and finished 32nd and 34th respectively with times of 19:26.88 and 19:38.09.

Nazareth also competed Friday in a handful of events at the Brockport Invitational before high winds and rain forced the meet to be canceled.

Grad student Anna Ahlquist broke her week-old school record in the pole vault as she cleared 3.53 meters (11 feet, 7 inches), a half-inch higher than her height at the last week's UR Invitational. Lauren Bendall also competed in the pole vault and finished 11th at 2.60 meters (8 feet, 6 1/4 inches).

Lea Richard finished ninth in the women's discus with a personal-best throw of 31.37 meters (102 feet, 11 inches). Ally Criswell was 12th in the same event at 30.07 meters (98 feet, 8 inches).

In the abbreviated men's meet, freshman Nicholas Read competed in the men's pole vault and cleared 3.65 meters (11 feet, 11 3/4 inches) to finish in 11th place. Ethan Glashauser finished first in the 10,000-meter run with a time of 34:16.04 to win the race by more than 11 seconds. Jake Suddaby finished in third place (35:27.36) and Michael Brown was fourth (35:54.31) before the meet ended.
