CORTLAND, NY – The Nazareth College Dance Team competed Saturday morning at the Collegiate Dance Invitational and National Dance Team event and came away with multiple awards.

The team placed first in the lyrical/contemporary category, first place in the jazz category, and first place overall out of the whole competition with their contemporary routine.

The team also received two special judge's awards - "originality" for the contemporary dance and "fan favorite" for the jazz dance. 

Both dances were choreographed by head coach Megan Searing and captains seniors Natalie Salewski and Emma Sutton as well as junior Sara Joerger. 

The jazz dance, "Harry Styles," is the routine that was performed at halftime at all regular season basketball games this season in Kidera Gymnasium. The contemporary dance, "Got It In You" was premiered Friday night at halftime in the first round of the NCAA tournament.
