NIAGARA FALLS, NY – Sophomore Kai D'Alessandro won the 500 freestyle race and the Golden Flyers added a quartet of second place finishes as the Nazareth College Men's Swimming and Diving team competed in a dual meet at Niagara University Saturday.
Niagara won the meet 142-90.
D'Alessandro clocked a 5:03.78 to win the 500 free for Nazareth (1-2). The relay of senior Tom Griffin, sophomore Chad Buccella, senior Marco Salvatore and sophomore Ryan Hough took second in the 200 medley relay to start the meet with a time of 1:40.79.
Sophomore Cameron Fairley was second in the 200 free (1:52.11) and freshman diver Nils Herfindahl was second in the 1-meter (209.85) and also second in the 3-meter (184.94).
The 200 free relay scored first place points and finished second with Griffin, senior Joseph Knapp, Fairley and senior Sean Payrot as they clocked a 1:30.25 in the race.
Junior Dylan Long was third in the 1000 free (10:41.51), Salvatore was third in the 100 IM (57.27) and Hough was third in the 100 free (49.12) for Nazareth.
The Golden Flyers will swim at Hartwick Saturday and host Rochester Nov. 12.
