Nazareth College Athletics

Environmental Science and Sustainability major... son of Tom and Wendy Griffin, Liverpool, N.Y... returning for his fourth season, Griffin competed for the Golden Flyers during the pandemic-shortened 2021 spring season and swam on the 200 medley and 400 medley relays that each finished second at the Rochester Invitational in Webster with times of 1:35.78 and 3:32.78 respectively... also swam seventh in the 50 free (:21.66), seventh in the 100 backstroke (:54.28) and seventh in the 200 backstroke (2:02.87).

2019-20: Griffin was among the top swimmers in the Empire 8 Conference in 2019-20 as he earned all-conference honors in seven events, highlighted by an individual title in the 100 backstroke (:51.22) at the Allegheny Empire meet at Webster Aquatic Center for the second year in a row... also part of four winning relays -- 200 medley (1:33.07), the 200 free (1:24.03), the 400 medley (3:26.07) and the 400 free (3:07.24)... finished second in both the 50 freestyle (:20.88) and the 100 freestyle (:46.35)... named Empire 8 Athlete of the Week for the period that ended 11/11/19.

2018-19: Griffin was among the Golden Flyers' top swimmers in 2018-19 and was selected as the team's Newcomer of the Year... won Empire 8 Conference title in the 100 backstroke, narrowly missing a school record with a time of :51.21... swam on four school-record breaking relays -- 200 free relay (1:22.75), the 200 medley relay (1:31.61), the 400 free relay (3:04.93) and the 400 medley relay (3:25.23) -- that recorded two first-place finishes and a pair of runner-up finishes... placed second in the 50 freestyle (:20.88) and ninth in the 100 free (:47.96).

Scholastic: a graduate of Liverpool High School, Griffin was a four-year standout for the swim team there... a three-time all-Central New York first-team selection and two-time team MVP... named Section Three Class A Swimmer of the Meet in 2018 after winning both the 50 and 100 freestyle events and advancing to the state meet... helped team to four straight Center New York Cities League titles and four straight Section Three titles... also swam for the Liverpool Jets club team... recipient of Donald Langenmayer Memorial Scholarship.
