CORTLAND, NY – Senior Alycia Eaton capped the All-Atlantic Regional Championship meet with a fourth-place finish in the long jump and the 4x800 Relay featuring sophomores Kelly Artini, Lydia Dewart and Deirdre Brett as well as junior Maria Staehr finished 10th for the Nazareth College women's track and field team.
Eaton qualified for the finals with a jump of 5.51 meters (18' 1") on her final attempt and then had a season-best 5.70-meter (18' 8 ½") leap on her second attempt to move up to fourth in the final standings. The 5.70 jump ranks in the top-20 in the nation and should qualify her for the NCAA Championships with results from a couple Midwest meets still pending later Thursday.
Eaton is also in contention for NCAA Championship competition in the triple jump as she currently sits in 22nd place in the nation.
The 4x800 relay clocked a 9:58.60 to take 10th place overall.
Other finishers on the day for the Golden Flyers included freshman
Ally Criswell who took 22nd in the discus throw with a distance of 31.63 meters (103' 9"), Staehr (13th) and freshman
Brenna Johnson (18th) in the 400-meters and Brett (13th) in the 1500-meters race.
