HOUGHTON, NY – The Nazareth College men's and women's track and field teams competed Friday evening in the first meet of the second semester with a very competitive field at Houghton College in the Kerr-Pegula Fieldhouse.
The top finish on the day for the Golden Flyers was the 4x400 relay for the women as Alycia Eaton, Brenna Johnson, Lydia Dewart and Maria Staehr finished third with a time of 4:17.08.
Individual top finishes for the Golden Flyers included a sixth place finish for Johnson in the 300 meter race, a sixth place finish for Gabrielle Pighetti in the shot put and seventh place finishes for both Eaton in the long jump and Sara Thomas in the triple jump.
Kaitlin Ange was 11th in the weight throw, Grace Blankenberg was 11th in the shot put while Madison Sabourin and Juliana Bunnell were 11th and 12th respectively in the 200-meter race for Nazareth.
The Nazareth men were led by freshman Matthew Johnson who was 11th in the 300-meters, and seventh in the triple jump individually and helped the 4x400 relay to an 11th place finish as he teamed with senior Jack Wessel, freshman Josh Pomerleau and freshman Patrick Healy to post a 3:49.77.
The Golden Flyers are scheduled to travel to Utica College Jan. 26 for their next meet.
