Nazareth sweeps Hilbert for 12th straight win

HAMBURG, N.Y. -- Second-ranked Nazareth extended its men's volleyball winning streak to 12 matches Tuesday as the Golden Flyers swept host Hilbert in three sets. Scores were 25-18, 25-20, 25-8.

The Golden Flyers will visit D'Youville Wednesday with a 21-3 overall record, including an 8-0 mark in the United Volleyball Conference.

Nazareth had 31 digs in the three sets, led by junior Sam Guba and sophomore Dan Mowery with six each. Senior Chris Mendez had nine kills and five digs and sophomore Rob Kraft also had nine kills.

Sophomore Alex Houghtalen had eight kills and sophomore setter EJ Wells-Spicer had 36 assists and five digs.
