History major... born 6/28/91... son of Ed and Laura Wells, Phelps, N.Y... returning for his fourth season, Wells-Spicer enjoyed another strong season for the Golden Flyers in 2012 as he appeared in 34 matches and 120 sets overall... had 1,184 assists and ranked fifth nationally in Division III with 9.87 assists per set... also ranked second on the team with 40 service aces... amassed 40 assists or more 10 times, including a season-best 58 assists in a five-set win over Vassar on 2/11/12... had 49 assists in a four-set home win over Rivier on 3/2/12 and 47 in four-set win at Juniata on 2/25/12... honored as a first-team all-star in the United Volleyball Conference... named MVP of the AVI Invitational at Thiel as the Golden Flyers won four matches...
2011: Wells-Spicer was spectacular for the Golden Flyers in 2011 as he appeared in 32 matches and 114 sets... amassed 1,318 assists for a Division III-best 11.56 assists per set... also had 34 service aces and 128 digs... set a school record with 73 assists (to go with five aces and 12 digs) in a five-set win over UC Santa Cruz on 2/12/11... had 61 assists in the Molten Tournament semifinals vs. Carthage and 50 in the championship match vs. Springfield... had 60 assists vs. New Paltz and earned MVP honors in the United Volleyball Conference title match on 3/27/11... earned an array of honors, including second-team All-American from the American Volleyball Coaches Association... earned first-team UVC all-star honors... earned all-tournament team honors for Golden Flyer Invitational, NECVA Tournament and Molten Championship... named Sports Imports/AVCA national Player of the Week for 2/14/11...
2010: had a strong first season for the Golden Flyers as he led the team with 1,062 assists (9.78 per set) while also contributing 27 kills, 43 service aces, 165 digs and 27 blocks in 34 matches and 121 sets... had a season-high 64 assists in a four-set upset win over Ramapo in the quarterfinals of the NECVA Tournament... amassed 201 assists in four NECVA Tournament matches to help Nazareth claim the team title as the 15th seed... was honored as a first-team all-tournament selection and was named Sports Imports/AVCA National Player of the Week... surpassed 50 assists six times overall in 2010...
Scholastic: a graduate of Midlakes High School, Wells-Spicer played four seasons of varsity volleyball there for Nazareth assistant coach Kyle Salisbury... holds school record for assists... helped team to 2007 Section Five title and was named tournament MVP.
