HILTON, NY (nazathletics.com) - Nazareth Men's Volleyball landed four student-athletes on the Empire 8 All-Conference teams and one on the United Volleyball Conference's (UVC) All-Conference team.
Ryan Murphy and
AJ Burda earned Empire 8 First Team honors, while
Sean Frawley garnered a Third Team selection.
Gavin Sweet is Nazareth's representative on the Empire 8 Tomorrow's Leaders Team while Murphy also received UVC Second Team recognition.
Murphy finished the season with a team-high 245 kills (2.63 per set) while hitting .359, adding 42 service aces and 59 total blocks for 3.47 points per set. The sophomore middle blocker concluded the regular-season first in the E8 with .45 aces per set and second for attack percentage. He turned in several high-impact performances throughout the season, including a season-high 18 kills in a five-set win at Grove City and multiple matches with 15+ kills. Murphy also contributed at the net with a season-high seven total blocks and recorded several matches with three or more service aces.
Burda totaled 805 assists (8.13 per set) while adding 155 kills, 36 service aces, 134 digs, and 37 total blocks. The senior setter finished his final season ranked fourth in the E8 with 8.11 assists per set this season and fourth in program history with 2,091 career assists. He posted a season-high 51 assists in a five-set win over Eastern and reached the 40-assist mark in multiple matches. Burda also recorded a season-high 12 kills against Widener and added a season-best four service aces in matches against Buffalo State and Elmira. He notched multiple double-doubles during the season and registered his first career triple-double against No. 18 Buffalo State with 41 assists, 10 kills on a .563 hitting percentage, and 10 digs.
Frawley recorded 203 kills (2.28 per set) along with 30 service aces and 31 total blocks. He delivered a season-high 17 kills against Endicott and matched that total in another late-season performance, while also posting several matches with 13 or more kills. Frawley added a season-high four service aces and contributed defensively with multiple matches of three or more blocks, including a season-best five total blocks.
Sweet represents the Golden Flyers on the Empire 8 Tomorrow's Leaders Team. One member of each team was named that institution's representative on the 2025-26 Men's Volleyball Tomorrow's Leaders Team. This team honors a student-athlete who has emerged as a leader not only on the field of play, but in the classroom and in the community. In addition, they "compete with honor and integrity" and have distinguished themselves and consistently exhibit the critical traits as outstanding sportsperson.
