ROCHESTER, NY (nazathletics.com) - Men's Volleyball (12-14, 1-6) fell to No. 16 MIT (19-6, 5-2), 3-0, in a UVC matchup inside Kidera Gymnasium Saturday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Nazareth stayed even early behind kills from Ryan Murphy and Quinn Ringstad, but a long opponent run flipped a 3-2 deficit into a 9-2 hole fueled by attack errors. Nazareth never fully recovered despite Murphy terminating repeatedly late and a small push that cut it to 24-17 before dropping the set 25-18.
- The Golden Flyers traded points through multiple ties wiith Tristan Henderson sparking the offense and Daniel Mangan adding a service ace to knot it at 10-10, but momentum swung after the midpoint as a 3-3 stretch turned into a multi-point deficit and Nazareth couldn't answer down the stretch, falling 25-17.
- Nazareth grabbed early control with a 3-1 lead on a Mangan ace and AJ Burda service pressure, but the set featured constant back-and-forth swings. Kills from Murphy, Henderson and Burda helped erase a late deficit and pull within 23-22, yet the final points went the other way after the comeback push, sealing a 23-25 loss.
