ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Nazareth's men's and women's swimming and diving teams are in action this weekend at the Don Richards Invitational at RIT. The women's team completed Friday's first day of competition in fourth place with 73 team points. The men's team is sixth with 52 points.
Highlighting the women's competition was a first-place finish in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:50.66. Freshman
Maura Reissig led off that relay and was followed by sophomore
Carissa Risucci, junior
Jaclyn Conklin and freshman
Emily Sauter. In addition, junior
Lara Spiegel placed eighth in the 1,650-yard freestyle in 19:53.09.
Ithaca is first in the team standings with 171 points, followed by Hartwick (117), LeMoyne (85), Nazareth (73), Alfred (69) and RIT (51).
In the men's meet, Nazareth finished sixth in the 200-yard medley relay with the team of
Jacob Kline,
Mike Bidwell,
Bryan Geary and
Jeremy Hudak. They were timed in 1:42.20. In addition, senior
Jeremy Wood placed 10th in 1-meter diving with a score of 233.25.
Hartwick is first in the team standings with 159 points. Ithaca is second with 124, followed by RIT (111), Alfred (80), LeMoyne (58) and Nazareth (52).
Competition resumes Saturday at 10 a.m.
