Women's Hockey Earns At-Large Bid To NCAAs; Receive Bye to Quarterfinals

ROCHESTER, NY – On Sunday, the NCAA announced the participants for the Division III Women's Hockey Championships, with #3-ranked Nazareth (25-1-1) earning an at-large bid and a first round bye. The Golden Flyers were one of just three teams to receive a bye, including the top overall seed UW-River Falls (27-1) and second seed Norwich (25-2). Nazareth will host a quarterfinal game on March 21 at 3 p.m. at the Rochester Ice Center against the winner of Wilkes (24-1-1) and Adrian (24-5).

The Golden Flyers are making their fifth-straight NCAA Tournament appearance but first as an at-large team. All four previous seasons (2021-2025) Nazareth earned the UCHC automatic bid after taking home the postseason championship. 2026 also marks the first time in program history that Nazareth has earned a bye to the quarterfinals.

Head Coach Chris Baudo and his squad will be looking to build off last season's NCAA tournament run where they downed Endicott 4-2 in the opening round. Nazareth eventually fell to #4 Middlebury 1-0 in the quarterfinals.
