ROCHESTER, NY – For the sixth-straight season the Nazareth women's hockey team will be playing for the UCHC Championship after collecting an impressive 5-0 victory over #4 Albertus Magnus on Saturday in the semifinals. The Golden Flyers will host next Saturday's UCHC Championship game at 3 p.m. against second seeded Elmira. Nazareth will be looking for its fifth-straight UCHC Championship.

How it Happened:

• Nazareth scored the lone goal of the opening period with 5:56 remaining. Logan Marchese fired a shot that was blocked in front, allowing Meredith Boettcher to push it past the goalie and Brooke Judkiewicz cashed in. It was her 10^th of the season.
• There were no power plays in the opening period.
• In the second period, the Golden Flyers went 2-for-3 on the power play to open up a 3-0 advantage.
• Nazareth converted a pretty goal 5:42 in. Amy Laskowski played it in the low slot to Marina McAnn, who with her back to the goal, played a pass between her legs, for a tap-in by Boettcher. 
• Near the midway point, Nazareth struck again as Laskowski converted her 25^th of the season. Ave Meteyer intercepted a bad pass from the Falcons and Laskowski froze the goalie on the near side.
• Nazareth added two more goals in the third period, the first from Ella Cedrone on a deke of the goalie from Corsica Skibinski nearly two minutes in.
• The final goal of the game came from Marchese as she chipped it off the boards past a defender and then backhanded in the tally from Mia Abruzzese and Meteyer.
• Mia Gonsalves made 18 saves for her fourth shutout of the season.

Game Notes:

• Nazareth has now held its semifinal opponents scoreless in each of the last three seasons (5-0 in 2026 vs Albertus Magnus, 5-0 vs Chatham in 2025, 4-0 vs Wilkes in 2024).
• After three-straight years of defeating Utica in the championship game, the Golden Flyers will matchup with the Soaring Eagles for the first time since 2021.
• The last time the Golden Flyers did not win the UCHC Championship was when they lost in the title game in 2021 to Elmira 5-1.  
• Laskowski is now just one point away from 50 for the season with 25 goal and 24 assists.
• Boettcher has a career-high 30 points on 17 goals and 13 assists.
• Judkiewicz (10G, 21A) has 10 points more than her first year (21 points).
• Marchese sits at 24 points on 13 goals and 11 assists.
