OSWEGO, N.Y. – The Golden Flyers' men's golf team placed second following the second round of the Oswego Spring Invitational that concluded on Sunday. Freshman Charlie Calcagni made a hole-in-one on the par-3, 173-yard fourth hole, which was the first ever at the invitational.
Combined with Saturday's score of 327 (+43), Nazareth finished with a score of 642 (+74) after shooting a 315 (+31) on Sunday. Delhi's A team placed first after tallying a total score of 637 (+69) following a 306 (+22) on Sunday. Delhi's B team took third with a total score of 649 (+81) after recording scores of 329 (+45) and 320 (+36) on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.
Vincent Falgiatano was Nazareth's top finisher with a two-round score of +14, shooting +7s on both rounds. V. Falgiatano tied for first place at the tournament.
Graduate student Anthony Falgiatano was the Golden Flyers' top performer on Sunday with a 75 (+4) to take 4th place overall with a two round score of +16.. Anthony had birdies at the third and 18th holes and carded pars on holes six through 14. On the back nine, he was just one-over-par.
Junior V. Falgiatano and sophomore Lincoln Crosby each finished with a score of 78 (+7) on Sunday. Vincent recorded pars on holes five through nine. Crosby birdied the par-4 15th hole and had four straight pars twice; he had pars on the second through fifth holes and 10th through 13th holes. Crosby took fifth place.
In addition to his ace on the fourth hole, Calcagni birdied the par-5 14th hole and had pars on holes five through nine. He finished the round with an 81 (+10) for a two round total of +25, finishing 22nd overall.
Senior Colin Rider rounded out the Golden Flyers with an 86 (+15) after seven total pars, including on holes eight through 10, finishing with a two-round score of +28 for 28th place.
Graduate student Thomas McIntosh was Nazareth's final golfer with an 84 (+13) on Sunday for a two-round total of +33 to finish in 33rd. After his birdie on the par-5 first hole, McIntosh recorded six pars out of eight opportunities on the fifth through 12th holes. He was only two strokes over par on the front nine.
