CANTON, NY (nazathletics.com) – The Nazareth men's golf team returned to action at Oliver D. Appleton Golf Club for day two of the St. Lawrence Invitational on Sunday after a 2nd-place performance through round one. The Golden Flyers turned in a team score of +16 on the day, which was the 6th best score among the 13 teams competing in Canton, New York. They earned a two-day total of +18 and took 4th place overall at the event's close; a strong performance in their first tournament of the season. The St. Lawrence University Saints held onto 1st place, taking the win with a total weekend score of -1.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED

• Lincoln Crosby was the top Golden Flyer on day two and found himself highest on the individual leaderboard as well with a 10th-place finish. Crosby carded a 73 (+1) on Sunday and finished the event at +3. His 18 holes on closing day were highlighted by a trio of birdies and a day of consistent golf.
• Jason Clifton finished in 11th place overall in Canton, powered by a strong day-one score followed by an 80 (+8) on day two. His total score on the weekend was +4.
• Jaxstin Bingham turned in a Sunday score of 76 (+4) and finished the event +6 through 36 holes. His performance, highlighted by three birdies including one on 18 to close out the weekend, landed him in a tie for 17th place individually.
• Daniel Meritt rounded out the top 4 for Nazareth, carding an event total of +8 (tied for 24th overall). He turned in a 78 (+6) in a final round that saw him end the weekend with a birdie on the 18th hole.
• Jack Fesetch took 36th place in the 88-player field, finishing with a +10 total score. He matched his day-one score with a 77 (+5), ending the weekend on an 8-hole bogeyless streak that included a birdie.
• Charlie Calcagni improved on his opening day performance, shooting a 79 (+7) with two birdies. His 36 holes landed him a score of +19.
• Todd Wilson (IND) turned in an 80 (+8) in round two, good for +15 on the weekend. He sunk a birdie on Sunday and ended the event in 49th place overall.

 
WHAT'S NEXT
The Golden Flyers will now gear up for the Utica Fall Invitational hosted at Yahnundasis Golf Club. The two-day tournament will kick off on Sunday, September 20th in New Hartford, New York.
