OSWEGO, N.Y. – The Golden Flyers' men's golf team is in first place after the opening day of the Oswego State Spring Invitational. Junior
Vincent Falgiatano leads Nazareth after he finished with a 78 (+7) after carding a 37 on the front and 41 on the back nine. He closed the front nine and back nine with five consecutive pars on each.
Nazareth has combined to shoot 327 (+43). The Golden Flyers are followed by Delhi B at 329 (+45), Delhi A at 331 (+47), and Oswego at 333 (+49). Utica rounds out the top-five with a score of 335 (+51).
Sophomore
Lincoln Crosby shot an 82 (+11), which was highlighted by six straight pars on the front nine. Graduate student
Anthony Falgiatano is third on the team after an 83 (+12). He recorded pars on three-out-of-four holes to close the front nine.
Senior
Colin Rider rounds out the Golden Flyers' top four with an 84 (+13). Rider converted pars on holes 13, 14, and 15, then had a birdie on the 16th.
Freshman
Charlie Calcagni and graduate student
Thomas McIntosh and are fifth and sixth after shooting 86 (+15) and 91 (+20), respectively. Calcagni recorded birdies at holes three, eight, and 18. McIntosh had back-to-back pars on holes five and six; he recorded three straight pars on holes 13, 14, and 15.
Nazareth resumes action at Oswego Country Club on Sunday.
