Empire 8 Weekly Award Winners | UVC Weekly Award Winners

ROCHESTER, NY - Three Golden Flyers have been named to Empire 8's weekly awards including Andrew Bodensteiner and Ryan Murphy of men's volleyball, and Kaijah Alexander of softball. Bodensteiner was also listed as UVC's Player of the Week.

Andrew Bodensteiner - Empire 8 Player of the Week, UVC Player of the Week
In a nail-biting five set win over St. John Fisher on Friday, Bodensteiner hit at an impressive .813 attack percentage and led the team in kills with 13. He also had three blocks in the win.

Ryan Murphy - Empire 8 Co-Rookie of the Week
Also in the win at St. John Fisher, Murphy hit at an attack percentage of .588 with 11 total kills. He also led the team in blocks with five and tallied four digs in the victory.

Kaijah Alexander - Empire 8 Co-Player of the Week
Across two double-headers this week (two splits with RIT and Alfred U), Alexander had a total of seven hits, nine RBIs, one double, and one homer at the plate, hitting at a percentage of 0.583. In the field, Alexander played both third and first base. In the four games, Alexander had a total of 18 putouts and four assists on an average fielding percentage of .917. On the mound, Alexander saw five innings in the loss to RIT, where she gave up zero earned runs and recorded two strikeouts.
