WEBSTER, NY – Day one is in the books for the Empire 8 Swimming and Diving Championships, with
Ryan Hough earning a fourth-place finish in the 50-yard freestyle as the highest finish for the Golden Flyers on the day. Nazareth is currently in fourth place out of five teams. The scores are as follows:
SUNY Geneseo – 285
Hartwick – 141
Alfred – 106
Nazareth – 81
SUNY Brockport – 76
Hough clocked a time of 20.96 to take fourth. The winner was Jordan Nielsen of Geneseo in 20.44.
The other individual for Nazareth that swam in an A final was
Gianluca Antonini in the 500-yard freestyle. He took 8
th in 5:02.48.
Jackson Gerbes was 10
th overall in 4:59.13.
A trio of Golden Flyers competed in the 200-yard IM B final.
Adam DelGrand was 11
th in 2:05.26,
David Martin was 13
th (2:10.61), and
Cameron Matousek was 15
th (2:19.18).
Alexander Baxter, Antonini, Gerbes, and Martin took fifth in the 400-yard Medley Relay (3:53.21).
