ROCHESTER, NY–
Samantha Luba had impressive performances in both the 100-meter hurdles and triple jump events on Saturday at the RIT Invitational, claiming two first place finishes.
Isabella Heath,
Alaina Morley, and
Lea Richard also were top performers in their respective events to propel the Golden Flyers.
Luba earned one of her first place marks in the 100-meter hurdles, earning a time of 16.66. Senior
Lauren Bendall (17.65) and
Hannah Ragule (17.76) followed in second and fourth place, respectively. Bendall also secured third place in the 400-meter hurles with a 1:09.22 later on in the meet.
In the triple jump event, Luba had a mark of 10.91 meters (35' 9.5'') to claim first, improving on her personal best of 10.30 meters (33' 9.5''). Health was the runner-up at 10.44 meters (34' 3'') and Ragule finished third at 10.31 meters (33' 9.9''). Health earned another second place finish in the 400-meters with a time of 1:03.44.
Heath's busy day also entailed securing a first place in the long jump with a 5.25 meter mark (17' 2.7'') ,while teammates Ragule at 4.96 meters (16' 3.3'') and Morley at 4.90 meters (16' 0.9'') earned fourth and fifth place. Morley notched her first place victory in the high jump event with a 1.52 meter height (4' 11.8'') just edging her previous best of 1.51 meters (4' 11.4'').
Morley placed third in the 100-meter dash with a 12.88, followed by freshman
Jasmine Kendrick (13.50) earning fifth place. Kendrick also had a third place finish in the 200-meter event (27.85).
Richard's continued her hot streak, claiming first place in the hammer throw with a 48.47 meter heave (158' 9.9''). Junior
Grace Moyer's throw of 38.77 meters (127' 2.4'') finished in sixth place. Richard claimed fifth in the discus throw at 31.34 meters (102' 9.9'') and eighth in the shot put event at 10.06 meters (33' 0.1''). Freshman
Emily Rolince had strong outings in both the discus throw at 31.49 meters (103' 3.8'') and shot put at 9.97 meters (32' 8.5'') placing fourth and ninth, respectively.
In the 4x100 relay
Alexis Lasher, Morley, Kendrick, and
Sydney LaSalle earned a 51.61 for a second place finish. Senior
Emily Weaver (5:03.31) secured second place in the 1500-meter run, while fellow teammate
Kennedy Doran (5:21.17) placed fifth. Doran improved upon her personal best of 5:25.08.
Several Golden Flyers had strong finishes in the 800-meter, including a second place finish by
Ella Impaglia (2:23.86). Freshman
Kelsey Fahy (2:26.80) earned fifth place along with seventh place finish from
Paige Ackley (2:27.83), ninth place from
Kennedy Rose (2:31.71) and 10th place
Bailey Visingard (2:31.79). Visingard beat her personal best of 2:35.44.
In the javelin throw,
Abbey Conquest led the Golden Flyers with a fifth place finish with a 28.02 meters (91' 11.1''). Bendall notched sixth place with a throw of 27.99 meters (91' 10'') and was followed by senior
Sarah Merriwether at 27.03 meters (88' 8.2') in sixth.
The Golden Flyers look to close out their regular season at the University of Rochester Spring Twilight Meet on Friday April 26 at 2 p.m.
