Women's Track & Field Start Strong For 2024 Outdoor Season

Results 

GENESEO, NY – Graduate student Emily Weaver won the 3,000-meter steeplechase and Shiana Susa, Alexis Lasher, Kennedy Rose, and Isabella Heath took first in the 4 x 400 as the Nazareth women's track and field squad competed at the Geneseo Early Season Invitational on Saturday.
 
Weaver clocked a regional qualifying time and took the top spot in the 3,000 meter steeplechase, winning in 11:50.28. She was also 14th in the 800 (2:29.97).
 
The quartet of Susa, Lasher, Rose, and Heath took the top spot in the 4 x 400 in a time of 4:18.14, more than two seconds faster than second place Geneseo.
 
The Golden Flyers had three members in the top 10 of the triple jump. Heath led the pack in third place with a jump of 11.27 meters (36' 11 ¾"). Sophomore Sydney LaSalle easily eclipsed her personal best with a mark of 10.75 meters (35' 3 ¼") for fifth place, while Hannah Ragule was seventh at 10.70 meters (35' 1 ¼").  
 
Sarah Merriwether was another top finisher for Nazareth, taking fourth in the high jump at a personal best 1.50 meters (4' 11"). 
 
Jasmine Kendrick was fifth in the long jump at 5.0 meters (16' 5"). 
 
Nazareth's 4 x 100-meter relay of Alexis Lasher, Alaina Morley, Caitlyn Smithers, and Jasmine Kendrick took fourth out of 10 spots in a time of 51.12.
 
Morley clocked a personal best in the 100, as her time of 12.71 earned her third place. Alexis Lasher (12.91) and Hannah Ragule (13.26) were 10th and 17th, respectively.
 
A pair of freshman, Kennedy Rose (1:04.23) and Jordan Wagner (1:05.74) were 12th and 13th in the 400.
 
The duo of Lauren Bendall (1:08.97) and Samantha Luba (1:10.21) earned sixth and 10th in the 400-meter hurdles. 
 
Kiara Tornusciolo was the top pole vaulter for Naz at 3.20 meters (10' 6") which was sixth place. 
 
In her first time running the 5,000, sophomore Ella Impaglia ripped off a regional qualifying time of 18:44.20 which was good for 25th place.
 
Lea Richard was 17th in the discus at 31.42 meters (103' 1") and Grace Moyer 24th at 27.90 meters (91' 6"). 
 
Nazareth will compete at the Rochester Alumni Invitational at 10 a.m. on Saturday.
