Women's Golf Takes Third Place At Day 1 of Northeast Women’s Golf Conference Fall Classic

CLIFTON PARK, NY – The Nazareth women's golf team placed third of 11 teams at day one of the Northeast Women's Golf Conference Fall Classic held at Van Patten Golf Club. Graduate Student Kayla Ringler finished tied for fourth place after being one shot of the lead with an 81 (+9).
 
Suffolk finished in first place with 329 (+41), followed by Cortland at 337 (+49), Nazareth at 360 (+72), Utica at 370 (+82), Husson at 371 (+83), St. John Fisher at 389 (+101), Keene State at 396 (+108), Keuka at 436 (+148), Westfield State at 493 (+205). 
 
Ringler led the way with a front-9 of 40 and back-9 of 41, mixing in a birdie for each nine which puts her at an 81 (+9) and in a tie for fourth place.
 
Freshman Bethany Wineburg carded an 88 (+16) which has her in 12th place. Classmate Ava Malvaso is in 21st place after shooting a 94 (+22). 
 
Nazareth's final scorer on the day was Julia de Masi who had a 97 (+25). 
 
Kara Kopyt is in 28th after a 98 (+26).
