Final Results
ROCHESTER, NY – A total of five athletes earned NCAA Regional Championship qualifying marks to lead the Nazareth University Women's Track and Field team to a fourth-place overall finish Saturday at the annual Conference Challenge Cup meet at the Golisano Training Center on the Nazareth campus.
Geneseo won the team scoring with 121.5 points followed by Ithaca (110.5), Rochester (85) and Nazareth (72 points). The Golden Flyers finished ahead of Cortland (62.5), St. John Fisher (57), Susquehanna (54), Scranton (46.5) and Misericordia (37).
Sophomore Alaina Morley sprinted to a third-place finish in the 60-meter dash with a time of 8.10 in the preliminaries and an 8.04 in the finals. Both times were regional qualifiers. Classmate Alexis Lasher was sixth in the 60 with a time of 8.33 in the preliminaries and 8.41 to finish eighth in the finals.
Morley and Lasher teamed with freshman Jasmine Kendrick and sophomore Shiana Susa for a first-place finish in the 4x200 relay with a time of 1:49.38.
Another regional qualifier was senior Lea Richard who set the meet record with a win in the weight throw with her record-breaking distance of 16.95 meters (55' 7 ½"). Freshman Hailey Webber was sixth in the weight throw (14.91/48' 11") and fourth in the shot put with a regional qualifying mark of 12.00 meters (39' 3 ¼").
Sophomore Rosie Morse was third in the pole vault and led a trio of top finishers in the event with her regional qualifying mark of 3.31 meters (10' 10 ¼"). Her sister Isabel Morse was 4th with a height of 3.16 meters (10' 4 ¼") and sophomore Kiara Tornisciolo was 6th with a final height of 3.01 meters (9' 10 ½").
Graduate student Emily Weaver was ninth in the 3K with a regional time of 10:34.11 for the Golden Flyers.
Additional top finishers included sophomore Ella Impaglia who was third in the mile with a time of 5:21.23, senior Isabella Heath (9th) and senior Lauren Bendall (11th) in the 400 meters and the Distance Medley Relay with Impaglia, freshman Ava Baker, senior Paige Ackley and freshman Kelsey Fahy with a fourth-place finish in 13:42.42.
The Golden Flyers had four top finishers in the triple jump as sophomore Sydney LaSalle was 4th at 11.00 meters (36 1 ¼"), senior Hannah Ragule was sixth (10.73 meters/35' 2 ½"), Heath was seventh (10.71 meters/35' 1 ¾") and sophomore Samantha Luba was ninth (10.52 meters/34' 6 ¼").
Nazareth will compete next weekend in the Bomber Invitational at Ithaca College.
