Final Results
ROCHESTER, NY – Four seniors and junior Caroline Coleman had impressive finishes to lead the Nazareth University Women's Swimming and Diving team past Alfred, 184-104, in the first dual meet of the second semester Friday afternoon in the Shults Center Pool on campus.
Coleman started the day in impressive fashion as she swam the anchor leg of the winning 200-meter Medley Relay as she teamed with senior Isabella Jaskowski, senior Ashleigh Parsons and senior Grace Cioffi to win the race in 2:13.59.
After a short break, Coleman then posted a first-place finish in the 800-meter freestyle race with a winning time of 10:21.63.
Later, in the 400-meter freestyle, Coleman added another win with a time of 4:57.43 and then capped the day as she swam the third leg in the 200-meter freestyle relay with junior Amy Barry, senior Julie Filipski and freshman Ellen Burroughs to win the race in 1:58.04. Barry added a second-place finish in the 50-meter freestyle with a time of 29.49 as she was off the winning pace by just .05.
Filipski added a pair of wins in the breaststroke races, winning the 100-meter race in 1:19.88 and the 200-meter race in 2:54.14.
Jaskowski took first place in both backstroke events with a time of 1:12.55 in the 100 and 2:37.41 in the 200.
Seniors Alexa Rizzo and Elizabeth Tripp dominated the diving events with Rizzo winning on the 1-meter board with a score of 277.05 while Tripp was second with a score of 249.00. The duo swapped finishing positions on the 3-meter board as Tripp posted a 257.70 while Rizzo finished with a 231.80 score.
Nazareth is back in action January 27 with a home dual against Penn State Behrend in the final home meet of the season.
