ROCHESTER, NY – Seniors Alexa Rizzo and Elizabeth Tripp delivered season best scores in the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events respectively as Nazareth fell to the University of Rochester Friday night in a dual meet, 165-76. Rizzo collected 283.50 points in the 1-meter and Tripp 292.88 in the 3-meter.
Rizzo's previous best mark in the 1-meter was 281.40. Tripp's previous best for the 3-meter board was 272.60, so she smashed her season-best mark by over 20 points.
The only other win on the day for Nazareth came from Julie Filipski in the 200 SC meter freestyle as she clocked a 2:19.36. Sydney Federico was second in that same event (2:23.81).
In the 800 SC meter freestyle, Caroline Coleman took second place (10:13.01), while Ally Putnam was fourth in 10:45.86). Nazareth also had second and fourth place finishes in the 50 SC meter freestyle from Amy Barry (29.53) and Lauren Sanford (31.71).
Isabella Jaskowski (1:12.62) was second in the 100 SC meter backstroke, while Ellen Burroughs was runner up in the 100 SC meter freestyle (1:05.07).
Ashleigh Parsons had a solid day with a third place swim in the 100 SC meter breaststroke (1:11.91) and fourth in the 200 SC meter IM (2:43.44).
In the 400 SC meter freestyle, Coleman (4:55.73) was third and Federico was fourth (4:46.26)
Nazareth is off until December 1 for the Bomber Invitational at Ithaca College.
