ROCHESTER, NY – Senior divers Elizabeth Tripp and Alexa Rizzo each earned NCAA Regional qualifying marks in the first meet of the season and four fellow seniors had first place finishes for the Nazareth University Women's Swimming and Diving team at the season-opening meet against Alfred State.
Nazareth scored a 131-100 overall team win Saturday in the meet.
Rizzo won the 1-meter diving with her score of 276.40 and Tripp was second with a 239.75. On the 3-meter board, the duo switched finishing spots with Tripp scoring a 267.40 and Rizzo finishing with a score of 241.15.
Four additional seniors also scored winning times as Julie Filipski won the 200 IM with a time of 2:35.05, Grace Cioffi won the 100 butterfly in 1:15.03, Isabella Jaskowski won the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:12.91 and Ashleigh Parsons took the top spot in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:22.80.
Jaskowski, Filipski, Cioffi and junior Elizabeth Deck won the 200 medley relay with a time of 2:10.30 to open the meet.
Nazareth will swim at Hartwick October 28.
