BROCKPORT, NY – Senior Kaleb Luton won the 60-meter hurdles event while fellow senior Mike Welch was third in the 400-meter race and freshman Michael Puglisi was fourth in the 200-meters to lead the Nazareth Men's Track and Field team at the Welcome Back Meet at Saturday at Brockport.
Luton hit the Regional Championship qualifying mark to win the 60-meter hurdles with a winning time of 8.28. He was joined by fellow senior Connor McCauslin (8.73) in fourth place and freshman Aaron Lund (8.95) in seventh place in the 60-meter hurdles finals. Luton (13.10) added a fifth-place finish in the triple jump.
Welch led three Golden Flyers among the top-11 in the 400 as he clocked a 51.68 to take third while Puglisi (51.90 was sixth and freshman Gavin McAllister (53.16) was 11th.
Puglisi was fourth in the 200 as he clocked a 23.08 time.
McAllister, sophomore Noah Engel, sophomore Joey Nettles and graduate student Patrick Healy took eight in the 4x400 relay for the Golden Flyers. Healy (1:59.53) was seventh in the 800 as well.
In the field events, graduate student Josh Pomerleau (3.95 meters) was fifth freshman Jason Bletsko (3.80) was eighth in the pole vault. Freshman Adam Reifsteck was sixth in the long jump with a leap of 6.54 meters and sophomore Kyle Reid was 10th in the high jump as he cleared 1.81 meters.
Nazareth will host the Conference Challenge Cup meet next weekend at the Golisano Training Center.
