Men's Hockey Rallies for 4-1 Victory Over King's

ROCHESTER, NY – Nazareth scored four goals in the third period, including two from Jeremy Swartz, to earn a come-from-behind win over King's College on Saturday, 4-1 and improve to 11-4-2 overall and 9-2-1 in league play. The Golden Flyers sit second in the conference standings with 28 points and will look to hand second-ranked Utica (11-0-0) its first conference losses next weekend for a home-and-home slate. Nazareth travels to Utica for a 7 p.m. matchup on Friday and will host the Pioneers on Saturday at 4 p.m.

The Monarchs struck late in the first period to take a 1-0 advantage, a lead that stayed until 7:34 into the third period.

After scoring five goals on Friday, Nazareth was unable to find the net until the third period, but once Jeremy Swartz found the net, it opened up the flood gates. Swartz was assisted by Blake Frost on his first goal.

Less than three minutes later Henry McKinney fed Blake Frost, who ripped a shot before getting blasted for what would prove to be the game-winning goal.

Nazareth kept it rolling with Swartz second of the day, marking his first-career multi-goal game. A faceoff win and feed from Mark Meinecke allowed Swartz to rip a blast from the blue line to get his second of the day.

Anthony Quinlivan scored an empty net goal to round out the score at 4-1.

Matt Sayles made 20 saves in net to pick up the win.
